Gmail’s In-line Spell Check?

Just when you thought Gmail could not get any better they go ahead and do something cool.
That it what I was thinking this morning when I noticed that my Gmail text field had in-line spell checking, almost exactly like that used in Thunderbird. Well, I had not heard about this and I was more than a little impressed. Google’s current spell checker works well, but it still has a ways to go before its as good as that found in MS Word or something like that- in-line checking would be the logical next step.
Anyway, when I tried to replicate this on another computer, nothing happened, not matter how poor my spelling was. After a few moments of confusion I realized that the spell checking was actually a function that comes with the Thinkpad X60 Tablet I was using, not an update to Gmail! I am trying to narrow down exactly what is doing it, for example whether its Thinkpad’s ThinkVantage or something like that, or even Windows XP Tablet, but I have not had the time to confirm exactly what’s doing it. Anyway, it’s pretty awesome because you can add spell checking to any text field and also remove it from fields where it is not needed.
