Quick Update

A let up in CES emails? It must be time for this year’s extended Christmas weekend, which it seems most people are stretching out into a nice little 4 day break. You won’t get any complaits from me and I might even be able to use the time to clean out my inbox a bit…
Today, for the first time, I stumbled on Ed Bott’s site, Windows Expertise. At first I thought Ed was just one of those authors who wrote a book so they needed to start a blog to promote it and to satiate the book’s fans, but he actually has a great blog, good enough to make it on to my RSS list at least. As an added bonus he is a Federated Media author though I did not realize that until later on when I saw a link to his site on this blogs FM links (look to the right -> ). I found the post through Techmeme after Scoble linked to him.
In other news, Crunchgear is reporting on rumors about a $2500 PS3. This system would have a “a power supply unit, anti-shake insulator, twice the memory of current PS3s and two HDMI outputs” and “will be used for enhanced audio and graphic capabilities”, which is pretty wild. I really miss the days when each console was released in one version…
Also, there is some awesome ultraportable news out right now. Not only is everyone waiting for more news on the ultrathin Macbook, but Fujitsu seems to have come out with a Macbook clone of sorts, and maybe even a super amazing CD-sized notebook.
Oh, and patent search goes live.
