A Wii For Your PS3?

Gigaom and GigaGamez are reporting that people, ostensibly rapid parents, are trading PS3 and cash for Wiis. The Wii is no doubt the hottest electronic gift this holiday season, maybe the hottest overall gift, and getting one is not easy. With all of the negative press on the PS3 combined with strong reviews of the Wii and the mass appeal Nintendo brings to the table it is no surprise everyone wants a Wii under their Christmas tree, but who knew they would go to such lengths? Given the price of the PS3 and the undisclosed amounts of cash being offered people must really feel desperate.
This is all kinda crazy, but I guess it’s what happens over the holiday season. All the insanity surrounding the release of the PS3 and Wii (long lines, fights, robberies, Ebay hijinks, etc.) have been somewhat staggering. I mean, not that many games are out for either system yet, definitely no must-haves except for- maybe- Zelda, so why not wait a few months, or at least until 2007?
