Getting Wikiasari Straight

Last week there was news all over about Jimmy Wales, of Wikipedia, and a search project called Wikiasari. Well, there has been a tremendous amount of speculation about the site including more than a few mixups. TechCrunch just posted on how the screen shot they posted was not Wikiasari but something else, though its not entirely clear what. Wikia does have an about page for their search but it is not too helpful.

Through all this it is important to differentiate between Wikia and Wikipedia. Wikiasari would be part of Wikia, not the mega popular online encyclopedia, Wikipedia.

Anyway, this seems to be the best post I could find on the subject, but at this point (2 days later) it could be outdated already.

Just updated the article on SearchMarketingGurus - nothing more to really correct, just some additions. Wales has updated his page (it looks a lot “cleaner”) and only by looks alone - it seems it will be called “Search Wikia” for the time being.

Thanks for linking to the article! :)
