This conference in Barcelona was the big news today and rightfully so, a lot of super cool stuff was dropped. I, having just gotten back from Europe (and not being invited) did not attend the event, but I read about everything that happened, in triplicate, as it was covered on a number of blogs.
Here are some high points:
- Moto MOTORIZR Z8- wow. Finally a great phone from Motorola? It runs Symbian, has a cool form factor, and HSDPA. The name MOTORIZR, well, sucks, but Z8’s are cool, if I remember my BMW’s correctly… Here is a video and here is the real info.
- Moto also had a new Q, the q9. It’s brings a slicker design, a lot more power, and Windoes Mobile 6. Might be worth looking into, though I am still severly bitter after what a disappointment the Q was.
- i-mate was making some interesting moves with their Win Mo 6 phones. I like the looks of that 7150
- There was also some news on the Blackberry 8800, which I was really excited about for a like 10 minutes, but am much more into the next gen stuff. We should see this phone pretty soon from what I hear. Nothing too new was announced, but more definite information, more pictures, and some official words as well.
No reason for me to get too excited though, I am still stuck on Verizon and CDMA which totally and completely sucks. I constantly am frustrated by how bad Verizon’s phones are, but due to a long set of circumstances I can’t change my number to another carrier so I am stuck with them unless I want to change it.

Hi, nice site!
