Born to Blog

If you trying to learn how to make money online you probably have stopped by johnchow.com. John’s blog has exploded over the past few months and I have watched it go from a personal page that had not been updated in years to one of the most popular blogs on the net in a matter of months (with some help from Digg and tactics like his blog reviews [this is one of them]).

I’ve known John for a few years now and over that time I have learned that he understands how the internet works. Regardless what you think about his posts on cars or Canadian restaurants, some of the content is pure gold if you are interested in learning about how to make a little income from the web. Lately the blog has been talking a lot about John’s “evil” machinations, basically his schemes on how to make a site grow. Some are great, some will get you banned from Technorati. Whether you like them or not, they will teach you a lot about how to work on the internet and how a little unconventional thinking can be the difference between a site making real money and one that just pulls in a few bucks from Adsense every month.

Honestly, I would probably read John’s blog even if it totally sucked because he is a cool guy and a business associate of mine. Luckily that is not the case; his is one of the best small business/make-money-blogging sites out there. I think he could improve the site if he did not do some many ReviewMe posts, in general these tend to be boring and cover sites/companies that are not great, though have been exceptions. Past the ReviewMe posts I think the site is headed in the right direction and has a really bright future.
