For Mana Fanboys

I don’t know if I bothered to post about this yet, but I recently bought a DS Lite to play around with. It’s the first gaming system I have bought new in a long time and it was completely and impulse buy (something I almost never do), but I figured it was cheap and I have been doing a lot of commuting lately so I would be able to get my money’s worth out of it.
Anyway, the first game I bought was Children of Mana, part of the World of Mana series, and a far removed cousin of one of my favorite games of all time, Secreat of Mana (for the SNES). I have only played it a few hours so far, but it is pretty enjoyable. Yes, it’s mindless and tedious, but I don’t mind that from time to time. I am more concerned about how easy it is so far, but I am hoping it will be more challenging later on.
Regardless of how I like Children of Mana, the game is getting me ready for Dawn of Mana which comes out for PS2 next month. This the first game since Final Fantasy XII that I have been really excited for, despite mixed reviews.
While looking for some information on Mana games I found a pretty cool fanboy site, Seikens. It does not have a whole lot up yet, but the basics are there as well as some solid reference material. It’s no GameFAQs.com but it nice to see Mana and Square get some appreciation.
