Looks like, somehow, the specs for the Lenovo Thinkpad X61 Tablet (X61t) got out. A little PR mishap, and while it is very cool to know them, there are no huge surprises in store…

Lenovo ThinkPad X61 Tablet PC specs:

  • Up to 160GB, 5400 rpm hard drive or up to 100GB, 7200 rpm hard drive
  • DDR2 667 MHz memory
  • Depending on model 12.1″ XGA TFT (1024 x 768) resolution, a 12.1″ TouchScreen XGA TFT (1024 x 768) resolution or a 12.1″ SXGA+ TFT (1400 x 1050) resolution display.
  • 32- or 64-bit Microsoft Windows Vista or XP Professional OS
  • Next generation of WLAN performance through 802.11n
  • Wireless Broadband Access options

So we see the new Core 2 Duo processors, up to 160GB RAM, draft-n wireless, but not much else. There are probably a few more details that we will learn in time for the actual launch, but things are looking good so far. This will definitely make the X61 Tablet/X61s (if one comes out) a great system.

Some details to note: XP Pro is still available, no FDE (full disk encryption) hard drive option?, no weight drop from previous generation
