Alt Search Engine Day is Over

Wait. Let me get this straight. The alt search engine blog called for an alt-search-engine-only day yesterday?
I actually heard about this a few days ago and I completely wrote it off because it seemed a bit self-serving. In one sense it’s a cool idea, but this is hardly more than an exercise in futility. I try almost all the new search engines that I hear about and, for the most part, their not great… not all of the so called majors are even that good.
Yes, Google is just as evil as the rest of the, but at least it works. And their blogsearch, no matter what anyone says, works extremely well and is one of the most useful search tools to come out in the last few years. Why would I skip out on that, even for one work day?
