I've been thinking about getting one of these to make a sort of videophone pc, it uses lvds/DVI outputs, does that mean a laptop monitor could be used?

i think some people have already done mini-itx snes case mods but looks like an official pico-itx case is now available relatively cheaply:

Why not try using a previously owned SNES console as its case?

Nas, I actually emailed somebody about that today! It looked pretty sketchy and there were no details on price or availability, but we'll see what happens.

For the first (of many) pico articles you can go here:

i thought about going down the pico-itx route for a small silent portable pc but the absence of cases and messy wiring for the pin headers put me off.

also i wonder how silent it can be with that little fan? but i'll look forward to any updates on your project.

I have found a few possible solutions, but the problem are the wires the come out of the motherboard for the PS/2, DVI, etc. Check this picture out to see what I mean: http://www.mini-itx.com/reviews/pico-itx/images/pico-itx-0016m.jpg

I have something I customized to fit (the case from a broken printer) but I am looking into having a metal case designed to my specifications. If anyone has any plans or wants to collaborate (etc) please use the contact form (top of the page) and email me or comment here with your email address.
