Sunday Thoughts

Just some random Sunday thoughts… (with thanks to Jason Calacanis for his style of posts over the last few days)

  1. Few things in the world are greater than a Dunkin Donuts drive-thru. Their existence is almost reason enough to own a car.
  2. Motherboard manufacturers should never use chipset fans. These tiny little fans have to spin at very high RPM levels in order to do even the smallest bit of cooling so they are loud and the wear out quickly. These are always the first part on in a computer to get obnoxiously loud and to finally break.
  3.  This cool weather over the last few days is amazing. I would love to live in a place where it was 65-75 degrees F all year long.
  4. Home grown figs are one of the few plants that are worth it to invest the time, work, and space in.
  5. HTC’s TyTn II (Kaiser) is looking very sweet. Not sure if I am ready to give up my iPhone, but this could be my next phone.
  6. Survivorman is a great TV show. It’s one of the few things on TV right now that is worth watching. If you liked books like Hatchet and Robinson Crusoe you can’t go wrong with this.
  7. The iPhone’s email situation sucks. This is the device’s biggest weakness now and something that has to be addressed moving forward. All most people want it a Gmail app (like the one you can install on a BlackBerry), but next best solution is using mobile Gmail.
  8. People need to abandon AOL instant messenger altogether and move over the Gmail chat. I know it won’t happen, but it’s so much less obtrusive and it is searchable.
