The thing that is making all the headache is called “Allowed sites”.

You can find it if you click Tools – Options – Security – Exceptions and then you add adobe.com to your “Allowed sites” list.

This is actually weird. I've got Firefox ver 3.5.5. I'm a developer and I have Adobe Flex Builder, Firebug addins installed in my PC, meaning I have the latest Flash Player installed and Javascript turned on but it seems like Firefox is ignoring it. Facebook say's I need to install the latest version of Adobe Flash player. Now what??

I'm running Firefox 3.0.4 and have Flash 10.0.r12... And Firefox keeps crashing, even when the open tabs don't require Flash. I've disabled Flash, renabled it, unistalled it, reinstalled it... Nothing works. I regret upgrading Flash so much right now.

Hey Bart,
Are you doing the proper flash uninstall? http://kb.adobe.com/selfservice/viewContent.do?externalId=tn_14157

Some ideas:

1- go to about:plugins and make sure everything looks right, this has some good info available on the files that are installed.

2- Go to Tools > Add-ons > plugins. Disable Flash, close the browser and then enable it, this might fix things.

If none of those work, I'd start manually searching for dll files again.

btw- if you use Chrome- is that picking up Flash 10 or 9?

I'm running Firefox 3.0.3 and have Flash 10.0.r12.

I've searched again and again for a solution, looking for any old dll versions for Flash that Firefox may be using; nothing.

Firefox is clearly using an old version of Flash and not updating or using the version which appears in Add-Ons.

Flash files work except for anything that requires Flash v9.0.45 or higher. Firefox shows that I need to upgrade, which I've done and shows that I've done. Still, Firefox is pulling or using a plugin from an undisclosed location that I can't find.

Very frustrating!

Internet Explorer v7.0 has no problems; reads all the Flash files just fine.
